Professional Work
Sonos
For the last 5 years, I’ve been an experience strategist at Sonos, tackling some of the most exciting opportunity spaces across software, hardware and content to inform future strategy. In total, I was a part of nine innovation programs, growing from a role of lead UX strategist on large cross-disciplinary teams to leading my own small cross-disciplinary teams. By the end of my tenure, I was a linchpin in defining how Sonos does exploration work and a go-to resource for mentorship and advice.
In addition to the innovation programs within the product organization, I was also invited to co-facilitate a long-term strategy planning effort at the heart of business strategy. This involved guiding 14 leaders at the ELT-1 level through a series of workshops, defining & sizing opportunities and presenting recommendations to the executive suite.

Lutron
During my time at Lutron, I worked across the UX spectrum, focusing heavily on strategy-driven foundational research and leading small teams through mobile and web app design efforts. My focus was on the B2B side of the business, including emergent lighting technologies for wellness and smart building controls for the retrofit market. Target users included lighting designers, facility managers & electrical contractor firms.
In total, I spent 7 years at Lutron, starting first as an embedded software engineer for 3.5 years and then returning after my Masters degree for another 3.5 years to help build a design culture and evangelize design thinking. With a budding UX team lacking a few layers of management, I took on responsibilities in program planning, project leadership, recruiting and interviewing in addition to my research & design responsibilities.
NASA
NASA was my team’s client for our Master’s capstone project through Carnegie Mellon University. As a team of four, we were tasked with a highly specific design challenge, and through our impactful research, we ended up discovering and solving for a much larger problem.
We spent 8 months on this program with boots-on-the-ground at the Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. By the end, our work took a real foothold with the team at NASA, encouraging them to look at their approach in a completely new way.
